Misery Implicitly Loves Company: Implicit Homophily and Bully Victimization

چکیده

This study focuses on the formation of bullied individuals’ friendships and romantic relationships. Individuals in their past may be more likely to form connections with those who share similar oppressive experiences. Thus, we investigated possibility that implicit homophily underlies interpersonal relationships among previously individuals. Moreover, whether these individuals were aware friends’ partners’ similarly experiences prior initiating relationship. Our findings suggest young adults our sample grade school are significantly have a close friend or significant other also experienced bullying. The this contribute relatively small, yet growing, body research homophily, add extending processes bullies victims, line suggesting deselection (a induced homophily) can coexist by personal preference.
